Le mardi 12 juin prochain les 50 plus belles start-ups issues des 5 campus européens (Paris Londres Berlin Madrid et Turin) et du réseau des anciens (ESCP Europe Alumni) sont présentées à un jury composé de Business Angels fonds d’investissements réseaux d’accompagnement médias investisseurs entrepreneurs facilitateurs et étudiants.

« Made In ESCP Europe » est un événement gratuit et ouvert à tous les passionnés et curieux d’entrepreneuriat.

Cette année 50 projets sont présentés sur le format d’un pitch de 2 à 5 minutes. 7 pays et implantations géographiques sont représentés. Les projets ont démarré en moyenne il y a 11 mois (mais 50% des projets ont entre 1 ou 2 ans).

Le point commun de toutes ces entreprises : ESCP Europe. Chacune d’entre elles a été fondée par au moins un entrepreneur ayant suivi sa scolarité à l’école.

Mois par mois puisque l’exercice a des contraintes précises : 12 slides 12 minutes pour 12 mois entre mai 2011 et juin 2012.

Y con este objetivo acaba de poner en marcha su programa Lider & Coach que dará comienzo a finales de mes en el campus de Madrid dirigido a directivos responsables de proyectos (project managers) de empresas principalmente tecnológicas y del mundo de la ingeniería o consultoría: la "primera división" de la industria productiva.

Según ESCP Europe un jefe emocionalmente inteligente debe ser como un buen entrenador capaz de asegurar en buena medida el éxito de un proyecto especialmente ahora que las compañías deben trabajar en entornos multiculturales en los que se 'ficha' a los mejores talentos procedentes de cada lugar.

De este modo y al igual que ocurre desde hace años con los grandes clubes deportivos las empresas cuentan con cada vez más equipos internacionales en países como China o India lo que les obliga a conocer y comprender las características emocionales de cada profesional para conseguir que rindan al 100% de su capacidad.

Ante esta situación el programa -intensivo pero compatible con la jornada laboral- asume el reto de convertir al directivo en un auténtico coach de su equipo y de sí mismo de manera que sea capaz de fomentar la cohesión entre sus profesionales crear vínculos y trabajar por una meta común.

Como si de auténticos entrenadores de primera división se tratase los directivos aprenderán a detectar los distintos talentos y cualidades de los miembros de sus equipos de manera que bien combinados sepan llevar sus proyectos a buen puerto: de poco sirve tener a un 'Messi' o a un 'Cristiano Ronaldo' si no trabaja en sintonía con el resto de sus compañeros.

A la vez los asistentes al curso ejercitarán técnicas para impulsar la creatividad y mantener la motivación de sus empleados especialmente cuando existen procesos con altibajos o que se dilatan en el tiempo. Como bien enseña el fútbol la temporada es muy larga y cualquier pequeño descuido se puede acabar pagando muy caro.

Además como eje clave se trabajará de forma personal las habilidades de cada manager a la hora de resolver conflictos con eficacia minimizando los efectos negativos de por ejemplo una competitividad excesiva los choques generacionales y culturales la pérdida de poder o la gestión de los egos de los miembros de los equipos. ¿Cuántos equipos hemos visto fallar por los problemas en el vestuario?

Desde el punto de vista técnico la metodología del programa basada en el sistema Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) guiará y acompañará al directivo en todas y cada una de las fases que comprenden un proyecto desde la iniciación y planificación pasando por la ejecución hasta la monitorización y control final.

Según la directora de Executive Education y Masters Especializados de ESCP Europe Olga Alonso “mientras que para algunos jefes contar con un equipo cultural muy diverso representa una amenaza para otros es una oportunidad. Se ha demostrado que equipos presenciales o virtuales de distintas nacionalidades y disciplinas pueden llegar a ser más efectivos que los más homogéneos siempre y cuando tengan un líder fuerte un mentor que les sepa guiar y liberar su potencial. ¿Acaso es casualidad que el Real Madrid o el Barça tengan jugadores de casi una decena de países diferentes?".

The event was held in London at the Institute of Directors and was sponsored by the research topic funders KPMG.

The conference was attended by some 60 professionals (including 10 alumni) academics and students from the Executive Master in Energy Management (EMEM). Shireen Fraser (Alumni International Development Manager; MBA 2000) made a brief announcement on the launch of the new Energy and the Environment Club and to introduce the two delegates Lucie Roux (EMEM 2012) and Clara Wahnich (2004) who have been placed in charge of the development of this club.

El informe de la escuela de negocios -elaborado entre alumnos de España Francia Alemania Italia y Gran Bretaña- evidencia cómo la coyuntura actual ha cambiado la mentalidad de los profesionales y especialmente de los españoles que han dejado atrás sus reticencias a la movilidad para buscar un puesto de trabajo internacional.

Así en España esa fuga de talento se dirige como primera opción a los países del entorno europeo más fuertes económicamente como Alemania que recientemente anunció la necesidad de atraer a más de 100.000 perfiles ingenieros pero también a Reino Unido y Francia junto a otros como Holanda o Luxemburgo cuyas tasas de paro superan ligeramente el 5%.

Sin embargo los estudiantes españoles de másteres también se atreven con otros destinos más alejados e incluso exóticos con gran potencial económico como es el caso del petrolero Emirato de Dubai así como con los mercados emergentes del BRIC -Brasil India y China- con la excepción de Rusia.

Por otro lado el estudio pone de manifiesto cómo la crisis también ha obrado un profundo cambio de mentalidad en los trabajadores en activo de los cuales el 66% es partidario de la movilidad dentro o fuera de España si así puede conservar su empleo. De hecho sólo el 16% es reacio a cambiar su residencia principalmente por motivos familiares o personales.

La formación una fórmula de retribución

Finalmente el estudio de ESCP Europe analiza la importancia que las empresas conceden a la formación y al reciclaje de sus profesionales especialmente ahora que gran parte de ellas se plantea su salto al exterior como respuesta a la caída de la demanda interna. Este hecho explica que aquellos perfiles formados en estrategia internacional cobren importancia entre sus filas.

En este sentido curiosamente sólo un 8% de las empresas reconoce haber cancelado programas de formación en el último año por falta de presupuesto aunque la cuarta parte admite haberlos limitado en exclusiva a aquellas áreas en las que la compañía tiene previsto desarrollarse como es el caso de la internacionalización.

Además llama la atención que el 66% considera esta formación como una fórmula perfecta de retribución a sus empleados -sobre todo ahora que la mayoría han congelado sus salarios- a la vez que es una forma de motivar e incentivar el talento dentro de la compañía.

International Food Night was organised to raise both funds for and awareness of this year's trip to Uganda. Providing all the food themselves the Marketing For Change team offered an amazing selection of dishes served tapas-style for £10 per person.

Marketing for Change (M4C) is a non-profit organisation founded by this year's Master in Marketing & Creativity students. Alongside The Great Generation M4C will partner with the Kawempe Home Care (KHC) initiative in Kampala Uganda culminating in a two-week trip from 16-27th July. M4C's objective is to help the community rely on self-created markets by facilitating sustainable and successful business models.

Overall there are more than 50 students from the School involved in the enterprise supporting and coordinating activities around the project.

For Dr. Philipp Meier it is obvious that innovation is the key driver of change and growth for companies. He underlines the need to constantly seek for  improvement in order to keep competitive advantages in the market: „It was emphasized and understood that it is crucial for any organisation to create an environment  and atmosphere that are open to trial and error and thus allow people to be innovative. I learnt that every change has to be seen as an opportunity“ he said.

„The seminar provided us with a cutting edge view of innovation from an American perspective in the context of rapidly changing economic surrounding conditions.  The programme made me aware of many different aspects and facets of innovation within the corporate world which I did not acknowledge so far. The second round of the French presidential elections will take place on Sunday 6th May.

The French Embassy in London is urgently looking for volunteers to help with the voting process from 8am to 6pm as well as the evening vote count. This will take place at the Lycee Francais Charles de Gaulle 35 Cromwell Road in South Kensington. The French Ambassador Bernard Emie a guest at this year's London campus Annual Gala is counting on ESCP Europe students and staff to participate regardless of their nationality (fluency in French would be a plus).

Die international renommierte Wirtschaftshochschule ESCP Europe und die Prüfungs- und Beratungsgesellschaft Ernst & Young eröffnen am 24. Mai 2012 eine Diskussionsreihe zur Initiierung einer gesellschaftlichen Debatte der Energiewende zu der die Veranstalter Vertreter aus Politik und Wirtschaft sowie die interessierte Öffentlichkeit einladen. Gastbeiträge der Vattenfall Europe AG VNG – Verbundnetz Gas AG sowie energiewirtschaftliche Experten der ESCP Europe und von Ernst & Young gestalten den inhaltlichen Rahmen dieser Auftaktveranstaltung.

Grundlage dieser gemeinsamen Initiative ist die Neuausrichtung und -gestaltung der Energieversorgung. Denn in Deutschland und Europa werden momentan grundlegende energiepolitische Weichenstellungen für eine umfassende Umgestaltung der Energieversorgungssysteme vorgenommen. Dazu gehören beispielsweise die Förderung des Ausbaus der erneuerbaren Energien ein stärkerer Gestaltungswille der Kommunen der sich etwa in dem Phänomen der Rekommunalisierung äußert und eine Anpassung der Regulierungssysteme um den zielgerichteten Ausbau der Netze zu unterstützen und Ineffizienzen im Betrieb zu korrigieren.

Dabei sind Netzausbaupläne und die Entwicklung des deutschen bzw. europäischen Stromerzeugungsparks inklusive des Ausbaus der erneuerbaren Energien eng aufeinander abzustimmen. Erst durch einen koordinierten und kosteneffizienten Ausbau der erneuerbaren Energien in Kombination mit der Nutzung bestehender und dem Bau neuer konventioneller Anlagen sowie anderer Spitzenlastkraftwerke lassen sich Versorgungssicherheit Kosteneffizienz und Umweltverträglichkeit der Energieversorgung gewährleisten.

Der Kurs „Corporate Social Responsibilities in European Companies“ unterstreicht warum immer mehr Unternehmen Wert auf CSR- Aktivitäten legen. Die Veranstaltung führt die Studierenden in mehrere Berichtsschemata von Umwelt- über CRS- bis hin zu Nachhaltigkeitsberichten ein und demonstriert warum diese für den Dialog zwischen internen und externen Stakeholdern so wichtig sind. Der Fokus des Moduls liegt darauf zukünftige Manager dafür zu sensibilisieren wie wichtig soziale und umweltspezifische Überlegungen für gutes Management sind.

Der Kurs „Managing Complex Organisations“ zeigt auf dass das Management von Komplexität neue Ansätze erfordert die über herkömmliche Techniken und Werkzeuge des (Projekt-)Managements hinausgehen. Der Kurs liefert umfassende Einblicke in innovative Ansätze zur Bewertung von Komplexität und setzt sich mit Techniken auseinander die am besten zur Bewältigung von Komplexität geeignet sind. Komplexitätstheorie Wissensmanagement organisationales Lernen und Verhalten in (sozialen) Netzwerken sind die Hauptthemen die in diesem Modul behandelt werden. Das Managementaufbaustudium „Master in European Business“ der ESCP Europe ist ab dem neuen Studienjahr (September 2012) noch attraktiver. Studierende die nach dem Abschluss der ersten beiden Semester den so genannten M.Sc.-Track in Berlin absolvieren können den deutschen Master of Science (M.Sc.) als zusätzlichen Abschluss erhalten. Dieser Doppelabschluss (Master in European Business und Master of Science) erhöht zudem die Karrierechancen der Absolventen.

Der M.Sc.-Track wird ausschließlich an der ESCP Europe Wirtschaftshochschule Berlin in englischer Sprache angeboten umfasst neben der Masterarbeit drei weitere Kurse und findet jeweils von September bis Dezember statt. Studierende deren Erststudium lediglich aus 180 ECTS-Credits besteht können mit dieser Studienvariante insgesamt 300 ECTS-Credits aus Erst- und Zweitstudium erreichen.

2 Länder – 1 Praktikum – 2 Beratungsprojekte

Der Master in European Business ist ein 12-monatiges Management-Masterprogramm das in zwei Ländern absolviert wird. Als General-Management-Programm vermittelt es umfassende Einblicke in die internationale Betriebswirtschafts- und Managementlehre (z.B. Internationales Management Marketing Finanzierung Produktion Controlling etc.). Es richtet sich vor allem an Absolventen nicht-wirtschaftswissenschaftlicher Studiengänge (Jura Ingenieur- Natur- Geistes- Sozialwissenschaften etc.) und bereitet sie durch seine hohe Praxisorientierung (dreimonatiges Praktikum sowie zwei studienintegrierte Unternehmensberatungsprojekte) optimal auf die Herausforderungen der Managementpraxis in international tätigen Unternehmen vor. Als Studienorte stehen neben Berlin auch Paris London Madrid oder Turin sowie Partneruniversitäten in Bangkok Monterrey Moskau und Neu Delhi zur Auswahl. Bewerbungsschluss für das MEB-Programm 2012/2013 ist der 25. Mai 2012.

L’objectif de ce Prix est de montrer à quel point les capacités des jeunes entrepreneurs sont étendues et inventives ingénieuses et audacieuses. Cette année trois entreprises issues du Mastère Spécialisé Innover et Entreprendre de ESCP Europe ont été primées. Parmi les lauréats de l'édition 2012 du Prix MoovJee trois sociétés du MS Innover et entreprendre ESCP Europe ont été primées : (2 projets portés par des anciens et 1 projet de cette année)

Le dossier présenté par Ghislain Deslandes pour l’obtention du diplôme de l’Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches en Sciences de Gestion comprend un curriculum vitae et une liste des contributions scientifiques une note de synthèse de 97 pages et un dossier de travaux de 327 pages.

La note de synthèse présentée comporte trois parties. La première fait état des contributions publiées consacrées à l’analyse managériale des organisations médiatiques. Après avoir situé le management des médias dans les sciences de gestion l’auteur approfondit la notion d’identité organisationnelle appliquée à ce secteur d’activités et en propose une nouvelle conceptualisation théorique (« Modèle de la transition Identitaire »). La seconde explore le management par le biais d’une analyse philosophique à partir de concepts managériaux : l’intuition managériale avec Henri Bergson la vision stratégique avec Gilles Deleuze la règle déontologique avec Ludwig Wittgenstein. La troisième s’attache à l’analyse d’un management éthique notamment selon une éthique managériale définie avec les notions approfondies de responsabilité et de sagesse pratique. Le document est complété par les perspectives de recherches proposées par le candidat en matière de leadership dans les organisations médiatiques d’une part et sur les conditions de possibilité d’une ontologie du management d’autre part notamment à partir d’une phénoménologie de la vie.

Die ESCP Europe Wirtschaftshochschule Berlin hat ihr Studienangebot für Fach- und Führungskräfte erweitert. Der international erfolgreiche Executive Master in Energy Management wird ab 2012 auch am Berliner Campus angeboten. Am 24. Mai 2012 um 16 Uhr findet auf dem Berliner Campus eine Infosession statt: Lernen Sie den Studiengang Lehrende sowie die Programmleitung persönlich kennen. Patrick Gougeon Director Executive Master in Energy Management und Prof. Dr. Sylvie Geisendorf Akademische Leiterin am Campus Berlin geben Einblicke in das Studium und beantworten gern ihre Fragen in einem persönlichen Gespräch.

Das Studienprogramms auch auf dem deutschen Markt anzubieten entspricht laut Prof. Dr. Sylvie Geisendorf Akademische Leiterin des Executive Master in Energy Management an der ESCP Europe Wirtschaftshochschule Berlin der Marktentwicklung und ist daher nur folgerichtig: „Durch Energiewende und Atomausstieg verdeutlicht Deutschland in besonderem Maße die dynamisch wachsenden Ansprüche an die Energiewirtschaft. Von einer Analyse länderspezifischer Energiepolitiken aber auch der Umsetzungsprobleme können Manager der Energiebranche länderübergreifend profitieren“ so Prof. Dr. Sylvie Geisendorf.

Das 12-monatige berufsbegleitende Programm ist international ausgerichtet und führt die Teilnehmer in vier zweiwöchigen Modulen an den Londoner Berliner und Madrider Campus. Zusätzlich erwartet sie eine Abschlusswoche am Management Development Institute (MDI Gurgaon) in Neu Delhi Indien.
 
Der Executive Master in Energy Management richtet sich an Fach- und Führungskräfte der Energiewirtschaft und branchennahen Dienstleistungsunternehmen (z. B. Consulting). Das Programm befähigt die Teilnehmer die komplexen Anforderungen eines zukunftsweisenden Energiemanagements zu verstehen und so resultierende Chancen unternehmerisch zu nutzen. Programmziel ist es dass die Teilnehmer ein belastbares Wissen und Verständnis für die Energiewirtschaft und ihre grundlegenden wirtschaftlichen und technologischen Konzepte erwerben. Die Basis des Programms bildet eine gründliche und praktische Auseinandersetzung mit Managementgrundlagen die in Beziehung zur Energiebranche stehen. Zudem werden die Teilnehmer detailliertes Wissen der verschiedenen Technologien Branchen und Märkte aufbauen. Das Programm wird sie schließlich dazu befähigen Strategien zu entwickeln und umzusetzen um in einem stark regulativen Umfeld erfolgreich zu agieren. Ein in das Programm integriertes Beratungsprojekt bietet den Teilnehmern optimale Gelegenheit ihr neu erworbenes Wissen und Verständnis in einer realen Managementaufgabe auf Belastbarkeit zu testen.

Einen persönlichen und informellen Austausch über Fachthemen im Human Resource Management bietet die HR-Lounge der ESCP Europe Wirtschaftshochschule Berlin. Dieser After-Work-Event findet alle zwei Monate bei Berliner Unternehmen statt und bietet Personalverantwortlichen die Chance über Fachthemen zu diskutieren und sich gegenseitig einen Einblick in aktuelle Arbeitsbereiche und Themen zu geben.

Die Themenschwerpunkte werden von den Unternehmen selbst festgelegt. Die Moderation und Koordination erfolgt durch die ESCP Europe. „Wir freuen uns über zahlreiche Teilnehmer und den regen Austausch. Die Teilnehmer der HR-Lounge schätzen ihren eigenen Angaben nach die persönliche und offene Atmosphäre die ihnen eine kreative Plattform bietet“ sagt Jan Ehlers Head of Corporate Relations Executive Education & Career Services ESCP Europe Wirtschaftshochschule Berlin.

This summer they will take part in the french delegation to the Youth G20 & G8 Washington Submit and the Y20 Puebla (Mexico). Those events are negociations about the real topics of the G20 with students from all over the world.

Quentin Michel (Master in Management 2011) studied Business and Economics at ESCP Europe in London and Paris. His interest in international affairs and belief in multilateral diplomacy led him to apply to be on the French delegation to the 2012 G8/G20 Youth Summits.

The selection process included a mock negotiation session in which Quentin took part as a member of the Economics & Finance committee. It proved a great opportunity for him to interact with other like-minded students and realise the amount of work needed to grasp the topics under debate and be able to negotiate and represent one's country.

Acting as the Minister of Economic Affairs for the French delegation Quentin is looking forward to experiencing some of the realities and constraints of multilateral negotiations and to meeting his fellow counterparts from the other G20 nations.

Camille Bergère 20 is also a student in ESCP Europe (Master in Management 2014). Of dual nationality both French and Mexican she is particularly attracted to international affairs: as such she would like to pursue an international career in a corporation or a multilateral institution.

She participated to the Model G20 organized by Youth Diplomacy in January at which she represented Mexico in the Economics and Finance committee. This week-end of negotiations on real-life world issues was a very interesting experience. It enabled her to get a better grasp of today’s challenges and how to confront them.

Un nouveau bâtiment de 700 m2 vient consolider la structure totale du campus de 6000 m2 avec de nouveaux lieux d’échanges – salles de classe et lieux de travail supplémentaires mais aussi jardins et cafétéria destinés à favoriser aussi bien l’échange intellectuel que la détente au sein de l’école.

ESCP Europe a ainsi voulu faire de son campus non seulement un lieu d’interaction entre élèves et professeurs mais aussi un point de rencontre pour la vie étudiante. Cet environnement permet de mettre à profit la dimension internationale et multiculturelle de la population étudiante (plus de 80 nationalités représentées) ainsi que la diversité des profils.

Le 1er mai 2012 trois étudiants de ESCP Europe amorceront un voyage exceptionnel. Quentin Wuithier Vianney Dannel et Alexis Julien-Laferrière parcourront l’Europe à vélo en 14 jours du campus Berlin au campus Paris de leur école. 1300 kilomètres de distance en tout soit environ 100 km par jour sont à parcourir. L’itinéraire les conduit de Berlin à Paris en passant par Potsdam Halle Francfort-sur-le-Main Sarrebruck Metz Châlons-en-Champagne et Meaux.

A travers ce voyage extraordinaire les trois français souhaitent plaider en faveur de l’Europe : « En tant que capitales de deux grands pays fondateurs de l’Europe Berlin et Paris constituent des acteurs majeurs dans la crise européenne que nous subissons actuellement. De plus ces deux villes abritent deux campus de ESCP Europe » d’après Alexis Julien-Laferrière.

Vianney Dannel ajoute : « La coopération franco-allemande se révèle absolument nécessaire dans la défense des valeurs européennes dans la mesure où les frontières disparaissent les cultures se mélangent et où l’Europe est en train d’accroître son rôle à l’échelle mondiale ».

« Il nous est évident qu’aujourd’hui face à une crise économique et financière sans précédent et la résurgence des égoïsmes nationaux le fantastique et audacieux projet européen bat de l’aile. Lors de leur voyage les trois étudiants de Master veulent éprouver les bienfaits de l’Europe dans leur état le plus primaire c’est-à-dire sur les routes dans les villes au sein des populations. En outre les valeurs de persévérance de solidarité et de dépassement de soi joueront un grand rôle dans la réussite de ce projet véritablement « européen ».

Les trois étudiants seront accompagnés par Matthieu Guy un jeune ostéopathe également passionné de cyclisme qui testera à cette occasion un vélo à assistance électrique prêté par KTM célèbre marque autrichienne de deux roues. Il développera en effet une étude sur le vélo électrique sa capacité à faciliter nos déplacements et sa corrélation avec l’état de santé afin de nourrir une réflexion générale sur la santé le bien être et la mobilité.
